Peacock Bass is becoming one of the most popular sport fish among many serious anglers worldwide. Peacock Bass are a native fish to many tropical areas, but no place boosts bigger and more powerful peacocks then the Amazon Rain Forest. And at Angler Expeditions we offer three different trips to three different parts of the Amazon basin. For the angler who wants the luxury of a 110 foot custom yacht we offer the Amazon Voyager 1.And for the real adventure of a lifetime try either the Amazon Cutter or Amazon Explorer. Both the Cutter and the Explorer are floating houseboats located in the deep parts of the jungle, drafting in only four feet of water. A new concept offered by only a couple outfitters in the entire Amazon Basin. These boats are able to move through the shallow areas of the tributaries where a lot of the larger boats can not get through. What ever trip you’re considering, all three offer both excellent accommodations and the finest Peacock Bass fishing in the world

Fishing for Peacock Bass is much more productive in areas with less fishing pressure. That is why at Angler Expeditions we suggest trips on house boats and floating barges only. They are constantly moving to new locations of the Amazon to fish spots rarely or never seen by another angler. Another important element for successfully catching Peacock Bass is water level conditions.  Fishing for Peacock Bass is almost nonexistent in high water conditions. When water levels raise the bait fish head to the shallowest water they can find and in turn send the feeding Peacocks after them. Fishing these shallow areas is not possible with conventional fishing methods. You can here the Peacocks feeding but you can not get to them,” a very frustrating thing believe me”. In the rain forest it can rain for five days straight and a couple hundred miles away see nothing but blue skies. At Angler Expeditions along with our representing outfitters, are constantly monitoring water levels in different parts of the Amazon Basin. So please do not hesitate to contact us on this very important element of your fishing trip.

THE AMAZON VOYAGER

The Amazon Voyager began this season on the Unini River.  During its first week of operation, a group of lady anglers visited the camp – and did they have a good trip.

During the week, these ladies (plus one husband) landed 200 Peacock Bass 10# and larger with 4 over 20# and the largest, a giant 23#er.  Fishing was out of the new 17.5’ aluminum bass boats fully rigged with 50 HP motors and remote controlled trolling motors for maximum efficiency and comfort.

The 84' newly remodeled Amazon Voyager provides comfortable accommodations for up to 8 anglers.  The Owners, the staff, the crew, and the guides will do all within their power to insure your maximum comfort and enjoyment.

Having completed its voyage on the Unini River, the Amazon Voyager is now on the move to explore new and untapped fishing opportunities. The guides and staff are constantly probing new rivers, or areas that have had limited fishing pressure to discover the next great fishing adventure. You are invited to join in this exploration.

The Amazon Voyager will be exploring the upper section of the Caures River, the upper Rio Negro, Rio Urubaxi and many of the tributaries of these rivers in search of the most productive fishing locations.  Starting from $2950.00 for a week of fishing, don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

THE AMAZON CUTTER

The latest addition to the fleet of fishing opportunities from Peacock Bass Trips.com, LLC has been placed into service.  Fresh from the Shipyard, a totally new floating hotel is now available for your Peacock Bass fishing comfort.  No more bunk beds in small rooms.  Each bedroom on the Amazon Cutter has twin beds, extra storage spaces for luggage and a lockable compartment for your valuables.  Each bedroom has a roomy, private bath, and the rooms have individually controlled air conditioners.

At the end of the fishing day, a relaxing drink and special snacks await your return to the boat.  Later, the spacious dining room will open for your eating delight.  Buffet tables will be filled with an array of both American and Brazilian dishes to satisfy the appetites of the most discriminating anglers.

You will be delighted by the spaciousness of the entire facility.  The bedrooms are on the lower level along with space for fishing equipment and an area to do repairs on your tackle after an explosive day of fishing for Peacock Bass.

Next, take a relaxing, HOT shower, and then you will want to gather on the upper level where you will find a large seating area, a game table, and a terrific panoramic view of the Jungle.

When dinner is complete, you can again enjoy the large, comfortable gathering room to exchange stories about the day’s activities and the challenges awaiting you tomorrow.

The Amazon Cutter is located on the Unini River in the areas determined to be the best for the current water levels and fishing conditions.  It will be relocated to various parts of the river as fishing conditions change.

Access to the Amazon Cutter will be by charter float plane to the site of the hotel, or by charter wheeled plane to our airstrip and a short boat ride to the Cutter.

Prices for the Amazon Cutter begin at $2650.00 per week with all of the terms and conditions as spelled out in the Peacock Bass Trips.com information package and website.

And remember, now you can have the flexibility of fishing in the most remote areas of the Amazon on a deluxe, self-contained fishing facility.  No more tents or sandy walks to the Dining Room.  Everything you need is in one convenient location – all with air conditioning and Hot Showers.

THE UNINI RIVER EXPLORER

The Unini River Fishing Adventure houseboat has been named The “Unini River Explorer.”  Located on the remote Unini River, the Owners of the Explorer are one of only two operators with permits to fish this river.  The fishing pressure is very light and the areas are rotated in order to preserve and improve the fishery.  As a “catch and release” operation, the staff of the Explorer take great pains to assure that all of the hooked fish are released in good health to fight another day.

For the adventurous peacock bass angler that desires a remote, more intimate setting, away from the large lodges and crowded fishing boats around Barcelos, and for the fisherman that seeks hundreds of miles of productive waters with very limited fishing pressure, look no further than the Unini River Explorer --  located on the upper regions of the Unini River.

The Unini River is fast becoming the recognized “Big Fish River” for its large number of fish that are caught over 10#.  If you are looking for a river with big numbers and little fish, this river is not right for you.  But if you are after the Big Fish and several of them each day, you owe it to yourself to experience the Unini River.  Under normal river conditions, you can expect to boat about 30 Peacocks a week per angler over 10#, and you will probably miss or lose twice that many fish.  As with any fishing, there are no guarantees, but we do publish our weekly results on our website for all to see.  So far this season, more Peacock Bass have been caught that weighed over 20# than were caught all of last season – the largest to date being 23.5 pounds.  All fish are weighed on IGFA certified Boga Grip Scales – the weight is called by the guide and verified by the angler.

Recently, the Ranger Boat Company selected the Unini River Explorer as the host location for a group of its staff and dealers to fish.  In only 3 ½ days of fishing, these seven anglers caught and released 120 Peacock Bass over 10# with the largest being 23#.  We want to thank Keith Daffron and all the folks at Ranger Boats for their show of confidence in our operation by selecting us for the site of their visit.

If you want a more rustic experience in the Jungle, want to catch some big Peacocks, and want to save a little money, look no further than the Unini River Explorer. With trips starting from $2350.00, the Unini River Explorer can be your low cost outfitter for the Unini River.
